Best Folk/Country 2013

We had a fantastic night last night!  Thank you Nelson Brewing Company and Black Press for supporting local music and giving us such an inspirational night.  The Second Annual Kootenay Music Awards was held in the Spiritbar at the historic Hume Hotel. Live music by Melody Diachun, Shyness Amoung Strangers, Adham Shaikh and Shred Kelly made it a night to remember.  The Kootenays has so much musical diversity and talent and it was great to hear a whole bunch of local bands and sound clips of the nominees in one place.

We felt very humbled by the company we shared in the Best Folk/Country category: James Lamb, Shred Kelly, Rhoniel and Laela Heidt.  To say the least we were surprised when our name was called.

We dedicated the award to Shannon's grandfather, the inspiration for the song.  Sam Mackinnon, Siegfried Meier and Carly Thomas also deserve a big thank you for their contribution.

But the biggest thanks goes out to all of you that voted for us.   We felt your love and support and feel inspired to keep writing you music.  After all, that's what it's all about.
